Franklin Homes hosts event that raises $1400 for Monroe-based charity Gabby's Ladder
Monroe, Mich.-Over 70 families gathered on October 27, 2007 to raise $1400 for Monroe-based charity Gabby's Ladder at the Franklin Homes Trick-or-Treat party, held at its sales center.
Special guest Kaye Lani Rae Rafko, Miss America 1988, appeared at the event and posed for photos with children dressed in Halloween costumes. Attendees were entertained with games and a hayride. Children were given candy and pumpkins, also donated by local businesses, to get into the Halloween spirit.
"The Monroe community, families and businesses alike, really came together for a great cause and had some fun in the process," said Andy Blank, Franklin Vice President.
Gabby's Ladder is a group designed to guide grieving children and their families through the healing process and help them better cope with the death of a loved one. Money was raised for Gabby's Ladder through generous donations from local businesses and a voluntary $1 per child admission fee.
Franklin Homes is a manufactured housing development company with eight communities throughout Monroe, Belleville, Ypsilanti, Westland and Mason. Visit www.franklinhomesales.com for more information on Franklin Homes and its communities.
